An Overview of Zantrex-3 and Breastfeeding
At this time, it is not known if Zantrex
®-3 weight loss supplements are safe for use during breastfeeding.
Zantrex-3 contains many different active ingredients, including caffeine (and other active ingredients that contain caffeine), which could possibly cause problems in a breastfed infant.
Zantrex-3 and Breastfeeding: What Does the Research Say?
For many of the active ingredients in Zantrex-3 products, no research has been done to see if they pass through breast milk (or if they can cause any problems in breastfed infants). However, it is reasonable to assume that the stimulants in Zantrex-3 could cause problems, such as poor sleeping, irritability, and a decreased appetite in a breastfed infant, due to the high caffeine content in Zantrex-3. Additionally, many of the herbs in Zantrex-3 have not been adequately studied in humans, so it is not known if they are safe for anyone.
Do not forget that breastfeeding is typically a time of increased caloric intake and nutritional need for most women, not a time to be dieting. It is important to eat a well-balanced diet while breastfeeding. If you really want to try Zantrex-3, you should wait until you have finished breastfeeding.
