Xilitol

Were you looking for information about Xylitol? Xilitol is a common misspelling of xylitol.

People with diabetes may find xylitol useful as a sugar substitute, as it is a natural product that does not cause the significant rise in blood sugar caused by real sugar. The sugar substitute may also be beneficial for treating dry mouth, preventing dental cavities, and preventing ear infections in children (although more research is needed to confirm these findings). High doses of xylitol have been shown to cause side effects such as diarrhea and gas.
