Xenical® is used to both help people lose weight and keep weight gain from returning. The drug, which is available by prescription only, comes in capsule form and is taken with each fat-containing meal (up to three times a day). It works by inhibiting the action of certain enzymes that break down fat, which reduces fat absorption by the body. Side effects of Xenical include gas with discharge, stomach pain, and oily spotting.
