Does TrimSpa Work?

Many people may wonder if TrimSpa really works. Because there have not been any studies performed on the safety and effectiveness of TrimSpa, it is not known if TrimSpa is effective for weight loss (or even if it is safe to use). Advertising for TrimSpa products relies heavily on testimonials from people who have used the product. However, these testimonials do not prove that TrimSpa is effective.

Does TrimSpa Work for Weight Loss?

TrimSpa® products are popular weight-loss supplements. However, even though these products have been very popular, they have not been proven to be effective for weight loss.

The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) has taken action against the manufacturer of TrimSpa for making unsubstantiated claims (claims that are not supported by any scientific evidence). In particular, there is no reliable evidence to support the claims that TrimSpa causes "rapid and substantial" weight loss, and that hoodia (an active ingredient in TrimSpa products) is effective for weight loss by suppressing the appetite. Additionally, the manufacturer of TrimSpa has settled a class-action lawsuit that alleged false and misleading statements were made in the advertising of TrimSpa products.

Because the manufacturer of TrimSpa can no longer make these claims, advertising for these products rely heavily on testimonials from individual people. It is important to remember that these testimonials are of very little scientific value. Even if it could be confirmed that these testimonials were valid and honest, this does not prove that TrimSpa is effective.

Final Thoughts on TrimSpa Effectiveness

No studies have been published concerning the effectiveness of TrimSpa. Probably more importantly, no studies have been performed to establish that TrimSpa products are safe for use. Although laws regulate how supplements (like TrimSpa) may be advertised, these products do not need to be safe or effective in order to be sold in the United States.
