Suprenza Drug Interactions

Medications Used to Treat Diabetes
Because you will be eating less, your healthcare provider may need to adjust the dose of your diabetes medicines while you are using Suprenza.

Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
Combining Suprenza with an MOAI can cause life-threatening side effects, including dangerously high blood pressure (this is known as a hypertensive crisis). You should not use Suprenza if you are taking an MAOI or if you have taken one in the past 14 days.

Other Weight Loss Medications
Suprenza has not been adequately studied in combination with other weight loss medicines, and should generally not be combined with these products. This includes prescription, nonprescription, and herbal weight loss medicines.

Topiramate
Topiramate may increase the level of Suprenza in the bloodstream, perhaps increasing the risk for side effects. Sometimes, these medications are combined intentionally for weight loss. However, always check with your healthcare provider before doing this, particularly if the medications were prescribed by different healthcare providers or for different medical conditions.
