Does Relacore Work?

Although it is a popular weight loss product, the effectiveness of Relacore has not been proven. Advertisements for Relacore claim that the products work by reducing the level of a stress hormone called cortisol, which results in significant weight loss. However, studies of individual components of Relacore suggest that the supplement likely does not affect cortisol levels.

Does Relacore Work for Weight Loss?

Relacore® is a popular and highly advertised weight loss supplement. However, despite its popularity, the supplement has not been proven to be effective for weight loss.

Advertisements claim that Relacore causes significant weight loss (particularly the loss of "belly fat") by reducing the level of a stress hormone known as cortisol. Theoretically, this seems to be a reasonable way to lose weight. However, no adequate studies have been performed and published to show that any Relacore product actually has an effect on cortisol. In fact, studies of individual components of the supplement suggest that it probably does not affect cortisol levels at all.

Advertising for Relacore also relies heavily on testimonials from individual people. It is important to remember that testimonials are of very little scientific value. Even if it could be confirmed that these testimonials were valid and honest, this does not prove that Relacore is effective.

Final Thoughts on the Effectiveness of Relacore

No studies have been published concerning the effectiveness of Relacore. Based on the actions taken against other similar weight loss supplements, it is likely that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will eventually order the manufacturers of Relacore to stop making claims that it reduces cortisol levels.
