Phentermine Risks

Phentermine is a prescription drug approved to help with weight loss on a short-term basis. There are certain risks with phentermine that you should be aware of before taking the medication.

As with any medication, side effects are possible with phentermine. In clinical studies, some of the most commonly reported problems included insomnia, dry mouth, diarrhea, and sexual problems. Other side effects, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider immediately, including chest pain, hallucinations, and agitation or restlessness.

In order to help minimize phentermine risks, it is important to talk to your healthcare provider before taking this weight loss medicine if you have diabetes, glaucoma, high blood pressure, or hyperthyroidism (the medication could cause problems in people with these conditions).
