Phentermine Diet Supplement

Some people may have heard about the diet supplement phentermine. However, this is actually a prescription medication and not a dietary supplement. In fact, it is a controlled substance that is regulated by strict laws (meaning it is illegal to sell or obtain phentermine without a legitimate prescription).

This drug works by suppressing the appetite, and it may also increase metabolism. In studies evaluating the effectiveness of medications like phentermine, people were shown to lose more weight than those not taking them, but the difference was small (only a fraction of a pound more per week for the people taking the weight loss medication). Studies also suggest that the effects of these medications on weight loss decrease after the first few weeks.

Phentermine comes in tablet and capsule form, and is usually taken by mouth once daily. It should be taken either before breakfast or one to two hours after breakfast, depending on the particular product. Phentermine should be supplemented with an appropriate diet (it is not meant to be used without dieting).
