Phentermine was available in a variety of brand names in the past, but drug companies have stopped making them. The generic varieties are available in both tablet and capsule form, and are available in several different strengths. However, these brand-name products are no longer available. One brand-name product is still available (Adipex-P®). In addition, orally disintegrating phentermine is available as a brand-name product (Suprenza™); it is not available in generic form yet. There is no generic available for Ionamin, a long-acting form of phentermine that is also no longer available.
Generic phentermine comes in the following strengths and forms:
- Phentermine 15 mg capsules
- Phentermine 30 mg capsules (blue color), equivalent to Fastin
- Phentermine 30 mg capsules (yellow color), not equivalent to Fastin
- Phentermine 37.5 mg capsules
- Phentermine 37.5 mg tablets.
