One study of whey protein to treat cancer used a dose of 30 grams per day. Studies for use in people with HIV or AIDS (to increase weight and increase levels of glutathione, an antioxidant) used doses of 8.4 grams to 84 grams per day.
Because different whey protein supplements may contain different amounts of the active components, it is reasonable to follow the dosing instructions provided on the label of your particular product.
