Weight Loss Home > Didrex for Weight Loss

Approved for short-term use only, Didrex® (benzphetamine hydrochloride) is a prescription medicine used for helping with weight loss. The medication is meant to be accompanied by an appropriate diet for obesity treatment, and it is approved for use in people age 12 and older.

How does it work? Didrex works primarily as an appetite suppressant. However, it may also help to increase a person's metabolism. After a few weeks, the appetite-suppressing effects of the drug usually wear off. When this occurs, Didrex should be stopped -- do not increase the dose or continue to use it in any way.
