Suprenza is an orally disintegrating tablet that is prescribed to help people lose weight. It is similar to amphetamines and is believed to work by suppressing the appetite and possibly increasing metabolism. It is dissolved on the tongue once daily. Insomnia, dizziness, and dry mouth are a few of the possible side effects of this product.
What Is Suprenza?
Suprenza™ (orally disintegrating phentermine) is a prescription medication approved to help with weight loss, in combination with a low-calorie diet, exercise, and behavioral modification. It should only be used for a short period of time and only in people who are obese.
Suprenza comes as an orally disintegrating tablet that dissolves on the tongue. Phentermine, the active ingredient in Suprenza, is also available as a regular oral tablet and capsule.
Suprenza is made by Alpex Pharma SA for Akrimax Pharmaceuticals, LLC.
How Does Suprenza Work?
Suprenza is a stimulant that is chemically related to amphetamines. It is thought to work to reduce weight by suppressing the appetite; however, it may have other effects, such as increasing metabolism.
Suprenza has not been studied in clinical trials. General studies of weight loss have demonstrated that people who combine diet and appetite-suppressing medicines, such as Suprenza, lose more weight than people who just reduce their daily calorie intake. However, the extra weight lost is usually less than a pound a week.
