Lipovarin

Lipovarin is a diet pill that can be obtained without a prescription. How it works (or if it even works) is unclear, since no studies have been done on the product and there is no consensus on its active ingredients. Lipovarin can interact with certain drugs, and side effects are possible. Common ones may include high blood pressure, rapid heart rate, and migraines.

What Is Lipovarin?

What's in Lipovarin?

It is not entirely clear what exactly is contained in Lipovarin. Different Web sites for the product list different active ingredients -- the reason why is unknown. Lipovarin contains the following active ingredients:

  • Metabromine fruit extract (also know as just plain cocoa or chocolate)
  • Citrus aurantium (bitter orange)
  • Green tea leaf extract
  • Serotain™, a product that contains 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP)
  • Caffeine
  • Taurine (an amino acid)
  • L-carnitine L-tartrate
  • 7-Keto (7-keto-dehydroepiandrosterone acetate)

Depending on the source, Lipovarin also may (or may not) contain the following ingredients:

  • Rhodiola rosea
  • Coleus forskohlii
  • Coral calcium
  • Glucuronolactone.

It is not clear why there does not seem to be a consensus on the active ingredients in Lipovarin. Perhaps the manufacturer has changed the formulation.
