Does Lipovarin Work?

People considering the supplement wonder if Lipovarin works for weight loss. Because it has not been adequately studied, there is no evidence supporting the effectiveness of Lipovarin. As an herbal supplement, it is not regulated by the FDA. In fact, it can be sold without any evidence at all that Lipovarin works for weight loss (or is even safe).

Does Lipovarin Work for Weight Loss?

Lipovarin™ is a non-prescription weight loss supplement. Like most herbal supplements, it has never been proven to be effective for weight loss. Even though the packaging for Lipovarin is designed to make it look just like a prescription drug (it even has a "generic" name), this product is simply an herbal supplement and is, therefore, not regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Lipovarin has never been studied, so there is no way to know if it really works for weight loss. The supplement contains bitter orange (listed on the label as Citrus aurantium, which is a stimulant that may not be safe. Lipovarin also contains caffeine, green tea, and metabromine fruit extract (also known as just plain cocoa or chocolate), which also may act as stimulants. While stimulants may help people lose weight, they can also be dangerous. Stimulants can increase the heart rate and blood pressure, and may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other dangerous problems.

Most of the advertisements or Web sites for Lipovarin rely heavily on individual testimonials. It is important to remember that positive testimonials are not valid evidence that Lipovarin actually works. Even if it is assumed that such testimonials are genuine, this does not mean that Lipovarin is effective for weight loss. The only way to determine if the supplement really works is through clinical studies.

Final Thoughts on the Effectiveness of Lipovarin

This product is not a prescription medication, nor is it approved by the FDA, since supplements are not regulated by this agency. Because Lipovarin is a supplement, it can be sold without any evidence that it is effective (or even safe).
