Is It Safe?It appears to be safe in many situations. However, some people may be more likely to experience problems due to glucomannan. Therefore, you should talk with your healthcare provider before taking it if you have:
- A narrowing (stricture) of the esophagus
- Difficulty swallowing
- Any other chronic disease or health problem.
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:

- Breastfeeding (see Glucomannan and Breastfeeding).
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
