Cylaris and Pregnancy
Cylaris may not be safe for pregnant women because no adequate studies have been done on the safety of Cylaris and pregnancy. The weight loss supplement contains caffeine and other stimulants, and pregnant women are typically recommended to limit their intake of caffeine. Also, because this is usually a time of increased caloric intake and nutritional need, if you are pregnant, Cylaris is not something you should take.
Cylaris and Pregnancy: An OverviewCylaris™ is a popular weight loss supplement that contains a variety of active ingredients. Several of the ingredients in Cylaris have not been shown to be safe for use during pregnancy.
Is Cylaris Safe During Pregnancy?Cylaris has not been studied in any pregnant women. In the one study of Cylaris that has been published, pregnant women were not included in the study. Because so little is known about the risks of using Cylaris products during pregnancy (and because of the lack of clear benefit of taking it), it is probably a good idea for pregnant women to avoid Cylaris products.
Some of the ingredients in Cylaris (such as folic acid) are safe for pregnant women. However, Cylaris also contains caffeine (along with other active ingredients that contain caffeine), as well as several other active ingredients. Pregnant women are typically advised to limit their caffeine intake (see Caffeine and Pregnancy), and it is not known if the other active ingredients in Cylaris are safe for pregnant women. In addition, pregnancy is a time of increased caloric intake and nutritional need, not a time to be dieting or trying to lose weight.
Cylaris and Pregnancy: Final ThoughtsIf you are pregnant, do not take Cylaris without your healthcare provider's approval. Also, if you are concerned about your weight gain during pregnancy, please talk with your healthcare provider (see Pregnancy Weight Gain for additional information).
