Does CortiSlim Work for Weight Loss?
CortiSlim® is a very popular group of weight-loss supplements. However, despite the popularity of these products, they have not been proven to be effective for weight loss.
Initially, advertisements claimed that CortiSlim caused significant weight loss (particularly the loss of "belly fat") by reducing the level of a stress hormone known as cortisol. Theoretically, this seems to be a reasonable way to lose weight. The main problem is that no adequate studies have been performed and published to show that any CortiSlim product actually has any effect on cortisol. In fact, the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) state that these claims are "false and unsubstantiated."
Because the manufacturer of CortiSlim can no longer make these claims, advertising for these products relies heavily on testimonials from individual people. It is important to remember that such testimonials are of very little scientific value. Even if it could be confirmed that these testimonials were valid and honest, this does not prove that CortiSlim is effective.
Most of the currently available CortiSlim products contain stimulants, such as caffeine,
guarana, or
bitter orange. Although these stimulants may help suppress the appetite or increase metabolism, they can also have dangerous side effects.
