Initially, CortiSlim products claimed to cause significant weight loss (especially loss of belly fat) by reducing the level of cortisol (a "stress hormone"). However, the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) called these claims "false and unsubstantiated," and the makers of CortiSlim can no longer make such claims.
There is no adequate published research that shows that CortiSlim has any effect on cortisol. Many of the ingredients in CortiSlim products are simply stimulants, which may work to control the appetite or increase metabolism (but may also have dangerous side effects). All CortiSlim products (except CortiSlim Control) contain stimulants.
There is a lack of scientific evidence to support a conclusion that CortiSlim is effective for weight loss. No adequate research studies have been performed and published using CortiSlim for weight loss.
