How Does Bontril Work?

Bontril works in the brain by suppressing the appetite, and it may also increase the metabolism. Bontril is chemically related to amphetamines.
 

Bontril Uses in Children

Bontril is not approved for treating obesity in children under the age of 12 years. Talk to your child's healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of using the drug in children.
 

Off-Label Bontril Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Bontril for something other than weight loss. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, there are no universally accepted off-label Bontril uses.
