Decongestants
Synephrine (one of the components of bitter orange) and many nasal decongestants are chemically related. Taking them together may increase the risk of side effects.
 
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
Combining an MAOI with bitter orange can lead to life-threatening reactions. If you take an MAOI, do not take any products that contain bitter orange.
 
QT-Prolonging Medications
Theoretically, combining bitter orange with a QT-prolonging medication could increase the risk of QT prolongation, a very dangerous irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia).
