Adipex and High Blood Pressure

Adipex-P® (phentermine) can cause several side effects, including an increased heart rate and high blood pressure. Because Adipex has been shown to cause these problems, people who already have high blood pressure or heart problems should use this medication with caution.

To help ensure a safe treatment process with Adipex, talk to your healthcare provider about any potential safety concerns that may apply to you. For example, you may not be able to use this weight loss medication if you have medical conditions related to the heart, such as heart disease, congestive heart failure, certain irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias), or a recent heart attack.

In addition, you should not use Adipex if you have moderate to severe high blood pressure.
