Acai berry juices and other products have become immensely popular and are claimed to be useful as a "superfood" for treating or preventing almost any medical condition and for enhancing general health and promoting weight loss. In reality, however, does acai help you lose weight?
No scientific research has been published indicating that acai may help people lose weight. It is even difficult to speculate how acai berries might help with weight loss. Acai is most often promoted for its high antioxidant content, and antioxidants have not been linked to weight loss.
The bottom line is that there is no real scientific evidence to suggest that acai products can actually help people lose weight. Any claims about the "miraculous" effects of the berries for this or for any other purpose should be viewed with skepticism.
